ABOUT HOT PRESSING AND COLD PRESSING:
Hot pressing refers to a kind of press technoloLD which is applied to heat in conjunction with mechanical pressure.
It is applied for lower oil content oilseeds, such as soybean, sesame etc. In oil mill plant, hot pressing is to heat the oilseeds, using technical hot pressing machine, which raise the temperature of oil seeds before pressing, so as to improve oil yield. It is the most popular method of pressed oil nowadays.
Cold pressing refers to another kind of press craft which can squeeze oil from oilseeds directly without extra heat or chemical treatments.
No need additives for cold press, produces is safe, healthy and non-pollution. After pressing, the natural nutrition wouldnât be damaged.
The deformation of protein in cake which has been produced by low temperature pressing, and it is smaller than being produced by high temperature pressing.
In addition, the cake coming from cold pressing can be used as the source of high quality protein power. Instead of hot pressing, cold pressing keep more nutrients of oil esp. vitamin E and the rate of chemical action is the least in the oil press. That is why cold pressing oil is much more expensive than hot pressing oil, though hot pressing can increase oil yield.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN COLD AND HOT PRESSING:
Cold pressed oil:
a) Keep the natural features, like taste, flavor, color;
b) Avoid the negataive influences from the tranditional hot press method;
c) The physiological activator (vitamin E, sterol, etc) are preserved completely;
d) Not all the oil seeds suit for cold press, here are the different flavors for varios seeds below:
e) The raw materials must be well-selected, or it'll affect the cold press oil.
Hot pressed oil:
aa) The color of the pressed oil is darker, the acid value rise quickly;
bb) The crude oil must be refined, then it can be edible;
cc) The bioactivator are lost under high temperature when it's pressed.
